Bottom of the Map LIVE! at HIGH Frequency Fridays

Be part of a live recording of an upcoming episode! We’re doing a live show at HIGH Frequency Fridays, the High Museum’s monthly after-work party. Christina and Regina will dig deep on Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech.”  and explore how Southern hip-hop artists such as 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, and Gucci Mane relate to Abloh’s notion of “Tourist vs. Purist.”

Seat reservations are required. Visit the Bottom of the Map—Live event page to purchase your reservation to the podcast recording. Tickets are $14.50 (the same price as the February HIGH Frequency Friday admission) and entrance to HIGH Frequency Fridays is included with Bottom of the Map tickets. Admission is free for members.

HIGH Frequency Fridays starts at 6pm. The recording begins at 7:30pm in the Hill Auditorium.

A Trap and a Dream: Is Trap Music a Response to the Civil Rights Movement?

Join Bottom of the Map at the Trap Music Museum for a preview event on Monday, January 20 in celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. We will discuss how Trap Music is in conversation with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 70s and have a conversation with renowned artist DL Warfield. Also, audience members will have a chance to join a recording of our Season 2 trailer and be in a future episode about Trap Music’s global expansion.

All are welcome to REPRESENT, a day-long program by the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) on Saturday, August 3 for creators of color and their allies in news and entertainment media. We’ll be doing a live Bottom of the Map show! Also, “Super Producer” Floyd Hall and Christina Lee will be featured on the Power to the Podcaster panel.
